Eventually Maya is injured, and the remaining dogs have been alone for six months. The 2006 film follows the sled dog team that is lead by Maya. It is also a remake of the Japanese film Nankyoku Monogatari, which was released in 1986. The movie is based on the true story of the 1958 Japanese scientific expedition to the South Pole. Our second pooch is Maya from the movie 8 Below.
